"On faking it till you make it"

An interesting article in BI on faking it till you make it. it seems that social science is pretty clear. Though there is less agreement in literature:

"As Nathaniel Hawthorne wrote in The Scarlet Letter:

'No man, for any considerable period, can wear one face to himself, and another to the multitude, without finally getting bewildered as to which may be the true.'

But, to counter, the main theme of “Don Quixote” was:

'If you want to be a knight, act like a knight.'"

Perhaps both are true, to a degree. In fact, they may actually be getting at the same thing.
